Flower Assortment, Plant & Insect Colours
Prepared with pigments from sustainable material. The pigments are from our own production, using plant stuff, insects and fossilised plant matter.
We can classify in the following description:
1. + from artisinal crop cultivation, using organic methods (ie. No chemical fertiliser material). The colour is expressed in small batches, using traditional methods.
2. ++ from cultivated tree resin, where the produce cultivated can be re-grown.
3. +++ from farmed insect (Cochineal).
4. ++++ from farmed insect (Cochineal), with inclusion of natural ochre, from working quarry.
5. +++++ traditional Indigo production from India. Hand-cultivation of sustainable crop.
6. ++++++ sustainable algae crop.
7. +++++++ foraged fossilised plant material
8. ++++++++ by product from viticulture, vine lees cut on the waning moon, to gain maximum intensity. Charred in artisanal process.
The pigments are carefully milled into a gum emulsion, with natural mineral charges.
Dilute with water only. On drying, the colour is fixed and permanent. Apply to any art paper or gessoed panel.
